Ponderings
« on: Jan 10th, 2007, 8:47am »
Quote Quote

Fellow Coaches;

It seems to me, that coaches are posting less than they used to and I hold for them that it's because they are busier than they've ever been before.  Keep up the good work!    Cheesy

If less posting is due to being in a less than ideal business frame of mind, perhaps it is because somehow, we haven't learned how to coach ourselves or it is because we don't have our own coach.  Either way, posting on the forum would be a help to ourselves would it not?

I appreciated Terri's marketing call this morning and it reminded me that even though it upped the ante for me and warmed my fire, I can move forward, find new ideas, get jazzed in my work, through myself having a coach at the same time as being a coach.  What I mean is I shouldn't depend on Terri and her calls so much as allow Terri and her calls to add to my repertoire of skill tools.

At the very least, I should be developing the skills with all the insights and work I've developed to coach myself - asking myself, how would I coach someone like myself in this situation.

Just my ponderings but perhaps this can be an encouragement to others to post more, ask for help, exchange idea's.

Remember, "if it is to be, it's up to me"

Growing insight by insight,

I appreciate your ponderings Donna! Thank you for sharing.

One of the reasons I value coaching so much is that help helps keep ME in the game too, and I mean MY game.  It is a skill to develop- to have the habit of taking stock, taking the bigger view, considering how I want this hour, day, week, month, year to go. And that is simply self coaching.

Your post was another reminder and I'm grateful. Smiley
It is wonderful to see YOU growing and unfolding before my eyes.

Donna,

You are right. we all have to be doing all the things necessary to make coaching work for all of us. All of should have a coach so they are co-creative partner and accountability partner to make sure we are on track for the incredible success we are all wanting. We all know how dynamic Terri is but she has a coach too. So that is definately something to keep in mind.

Also the calls are wonderful that Terri does, we need to make sure we do the next thing after the call. At that is to TAKE ACTION! Without action all of this good information is just information in our head. To me that is what Coaching is really all about,,, that one word - ACTION!

Are all of us coaches where we want to be? If not, when would NOW be the time to take the actions to get us there?  Wink

Hi Donna, I've got myself a brilliant coach and am working on the business. Also I'm still having ISP problems so I haven't got internet connection at the moment which means I'm not playing on the site as much. I feel out of touch with everyone at the moment.
Warmly,, Henri  Smiley

Henri;

My condolences on the loss of your computer!

Without the internet is real isolation from support and synergy in the forum isn't it?!  I miss it terribly when I'm off line but miss everyones participation in general lately.

We are like cars, we still need to gas up from time to time so we can still go forward without getting out and pushing.

THANK YOU FOR A MOST INCREDIBLE CALL THAT WAS AWESOME!!!

Silly thing was both Vicki M and I had technical adventures so we were unable to ask or make committments annd comments on the call.

so here is mine

1. I love the exercises so much clarity i feel like you poured Life windex on my heart mind and soul as i felt more and more clarity thru out the call

2. I am committing to really narrowing my niche more and work on my sharing of the niche to others with more profound claitiy.

3. My take away was every second of the call held a nugget of aplicable wisdom, knowledge and new confidence for me, and evidence i have choosen the place for me to dwell for the rest of my life and who knows perhaps they have coaches in heaven Grin

Terri Thank you for being you for sharing from your heart in new depth and caring it is so evident that you are in your element of your life and you love it.

with true love and admiratio of you as a most awesome person,

BarBara

Corporate Coaching Opportunity
« on: Jul 11th, 2005, 6:58pm »
Quote Quote

Hi,

I am a new student at the Coaching U – Hello to everyone!  Smiley I have a question regarding corporate coaching. I work full-time at a large corporation. My vision is to start up a coaching business in the evenings and ultimately transition out of corporate America and into a full-time, at-home coaching business. However, an opportunity is presenting itself at work -- with my executive management. They are open to the idea of me “practicing” corporate coaching on their staff (i.e. middle management). How do I make the most of this opportunity, especially since I have no formal training in coaching (personal or corporate)? Is it best for me to work through the CCU curriculum in the order it is laid out, with corporate coaching skills learned last – and offer services to management at the end of the 8 months? I would love to hear your advice regarding this issue.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Warmest Regards,

Terri Tolentino

Hi Terri T!

We actually spell our names the sameSmiley

Welcome we are so delighted to have you.

I was working full-time at a large corporation when I started my coaching, too.  I worked in the evenings until I had enough clients and confidence to transition out of my JOB and into my life and business!

This is great that your company is open to the idea of you “practicing” coaching!  Read the modules on corporate coaching first.

Study those and you will be ready to coach them fast!

Also, work with your mentor on this first as this is a priority for you.

Terri, this is EXACTLY why our program at The Coaching Institute is customizedSmiley
